Some Pictures Just for Fun

Now for some updates and more pictures!

The last few months and especially weeks have been extremely hectic and busy, but we've had some fun too. We went to SeaWorld with the school at our church and Dietrich had a great time. We couldn't help but buy him stuffed animals and a onesie; this kid is so spoiled! All the kids that went on the trip loved having the baby there as well as their Bible teacher. Steve really makes an impact in those kids lives.

We also ended up trading in my Sentra for a VW Passat. We really needed more room with all the stuff the baby needs (stroller, pack and play etc) so we decided to go for it. After a few weeks of comparing the Camary with the Passat, there really was no choice. The Passat comes with more features for the price and has more power. We love it and are very happy with the purchase. We are leasing it, so we do have to be careful with the mileage.

The baby has hit several milestones. He is both crawling and trying to walk. He pulls himself up on EVERYTHING!! He cruises around the furniture and takes a lot of risks, which means he also has a lot of falls. I think he'll be walking soon. He had to go for one more test to rule out a congenital condition that can cause bleeding in infants. We had to go back on three different days because they had a lot of problems getting the IV started. He was stuck a total of 1o times trying to get the IV! It was horrible having to watch him go through that pain, but we got through it and the test was negative. The Dr. started him on a medication that should help with the bleeding. We have started feeding him baby food. He likes pears the most, and hates bananas! He likes vegetables too, but only when he's really hungry. He still likes breast milk the most. The most exciting news it that on Monday we got the okay to go to only night wear with the helmet. His head is still a little flat in the back, but it's a lot better than before.

I finished my second year of medical school and passed all my classes!!! The hardest class of the year Pathophysiology, which is the reason most people have to repeat the year, I passed by one percentage point! I did pretty well in all the other classes. I just took the first part out of three of my licensing exam last week. I'll find out the results in about 5 more weeks. But the most important thing is that I don't have to repeat the year!! All I can say about passing is it was only possible with God's amazing grace and mercy.

My good friend from childhood, Chelsea, got married last weekend. I've known her for her whole life (she's a few years younger than me). It was good to spend some time with some people that I don't see that often but have made an impact on who I am today. Chelsea was one of my bridesmaid's and I always enjoy spending time with her.
We are going to Chicago as a family next Monday and are very excited!! I'm also a little nervous because it will be the baby's first plane ride. I know we will get through it. Then I start orientation for my third year on July 2! So much for summer vacations!

Some Adorable Pictures

Here are some long awaited pictures.
This is from Easter.

Steve's Grandma Quita had a 70th birthday/Mother's Day party.

This is also from the birthday party. I can't believe how blue my eyes look in this picture.
